| Comments: | From the wedding of Selina Brass (front, left of centre with the bouquet) and Alf Robinson (to the right of her) at St. Paul's Church on that day. Alf's parents John and Margaret,
and his siblings George, John, and Bella are also likely to be present. The old lady in the front centre is Jane Brass (nee Paley) widow of John Brass, and directly behind her is her son James (butcher of Whitworth Terrace and Drake Street) and his wife Hannah (nee Heseltine). The little girls seated in front of Jane are James' daughters Sally (to marry Freddy Johnson) and Lena Brass (to marry Ikey Ward). Jane's daughter Charlotte, who was married to Robert Jones (behind Charlotte), is seated front row right with baby Selina (Cissy) Jones on her knee. Charlotte's other children Maurice and Jennie Jones are there too. Also in the photograph are Mary Jane (Jinny) Mortimer (nee Brass, another daughter of Jane), and her daughters Betty and Lottie Mortimer. 48 people in total, any identification of others would be very welcome! |
