Although not posted, the message on the reverse reads: "Spennymoor Aug 26, 1907 "You will see on the other side the procession for Aged Miners Benefit a few weeks ago - with love from J & E J Hewitt" The view looks towards Durham Road - the chimney from the old Tower Brewery in the background. The Salvin Arms can just be made out at the end (behind the banner). The end of the terrace on the left hand side was probably demolished to make way for Oxford Road. The centre of this photograph is now a mini roundabout. |
