Michael Lowe writes: "Photo was taken in Leasingthorne Road, Kirk Merrington opposite the family home which was called Stubbs Place. I understand the property is now called Shamrock House. The photo was taken in 1932 and shows from left to right Robert Lowe 13yrs, Nellie Lowe 16yrs and Thomas Lowe 11yrs. Also in the photo is Pat the dog.

"Thomas Lowe's wife who remarried after his death became Mrs Bland and still lives in Oxclose Crescent, Spennymoor. Thomas died in 1982, Nellie died in 2002 and Robert, my father, died in 2004."
