Contributed by Peter Bell, who writes: "Photo of my father Joseph Reginald Bell (always known as Joe by everone else but Reg by his family) on left after fitting new shop front. Don't know date but must be late 50's or early sixities. I think he was working for Ozzy Kitching at the time who had a yard behind what is now Scorpio shoe shop (Waterloo pub). Other guy to right of shop not known" Lloyds bank is on the left - later taking over Allison's premises. The bank is now closed. The Co-op is on the right, later part of the Top Hat Night Club / Tudor Tavern, now Doberman's furniture store. |
